Hi, my name is Jess and I’m a Senior Project Leader at WISE Mentoring!
I am originally from a small Perthshire town and moved to Glasgow in 2020 to study Psychology and Sociology at the University of Glasgow. I’ve been involved with character mentoring work since 2021, where I began as a volunteer before becoming a Project Leader in a local school. I am thrilled to have progressed to Senior Project Leader with WISE Mentoring.
I am very excited to be able to continue the project, as the transformative power of character mentoring is evident in shaping young lives. The project offers a safe space for children to feel empowered and truly understand their sense of purpose, and aiding this growth is an honour.
In my role I lead a primary school character mentoring project, which includes 8 volunteer mentors and 16 children across two project groups. I also work with our Programmes Director, Hana, to support WISE with recruitment, training and volunteer support. I am beyond excited to see what this year will hold!
