Hello, my name is Yasmin and I am a Project Leader at WISE Mentoring.
I grew up in Edinburgh and moved to Glasgow in 2020 to study Psychology at the University of Glasgow. I got involved with this work in my 3rd year of university in 2022 and continued as a weekly mentor until my final year. During this time I attended many family days, a summer camp, and I helped to set up the WISE Mentoring Society as a student body to represent the organisation.
As a recent graduate, I am thrilled to continue my involvement with WISE as a Project Leader. In my role I oversee two primary school mentoring projects, consisting of 30 mentee-mentor pairings across both schools! In addition to this, I work closely with Hana, Lucy and Amy to promote our community events, deliver mentor training, maintain strong relationships with schools and help with volunteer recruitment.
I have seen firsthand the impact of providing safe, supportive spaces where children can explore their character and grow. It is truly a privilege to be part of an organisation so close to my heart and I look forward to what the rest of the year holds!
